In July 2019, Xiaomi introduced a new smartphone as part of the Android One program – Mi A3. It has a good “filling” and low cost, and it cannot boast of a new version of Android.
Xiaomi Mi A3 runs on the “original” Android, so the upgrade to Android 10 should have been among the first. Other companies have long updated smartphones with both “original” Android and branded shells, but there is still no update for Mi A3.
They promised to release the update back in October. After several months of waiting, users made a petition demanding that the Xiaomi Mi A3 be updated to Android 10. At the time of writing this news, it has collected more than 3 thousand signatures.
At the same time, the Indian representative of Xiaomi said on Twitter that the update will be released soon.
In addition, the other day on gitHub appeared source codes for Android 10 firmware for Mi A3 and Mi A2, which means that the update will be released soon.
Lenovo lost its talent, and Xiaomi acquired a new vice president of the mobile division.
Lenovo vice president and head of Lenovo Mobile China, Chang Cheng, left the company where he worked for 19 years. Cheng resigned on December 18, when Lenovo founder Liu Chuangzhi resigned.
Cheng moved to Xiaomi, where he also took the chair of the vice president. Xiaomi Chairman and CEO Lei Zun confirmed replenishment, welcoming the new vice president of Xiaomi Group. Cheng will now be responsible for creating new products related to the company’s smartphones.
Chang Cheng joined Lenovo in 2000 as director of research and development for the computer division. In 2011, he was appointed vice president of Lenovo Group and general manager of the mobile division, where he was responsible for the software part. In 2015, Cheng traveled to the chair of the executive director of ZUK, a subsidiary of Lenovo.
According to Gizmochina, under Cheng, Lenovo fought for the smartphone market, but was never able to capture a significant share. At the same time, the reason for leaving the company was health problems, as well as the desire to spend more time with family.
Many smartphone manufacturers (primarily Xiaomi) add ads to their smartphones in order to increase profits or lower the price tag of the device itself. However, this is not OnePlus: the company is categorically against advertising.
“There is no advertising in our gadgets, but we can sell them a little more expensive, and make money on it. We do not strive to create budget devices. Our priority is the balance between quality and price. ”
“The differences between high-end smartphones and ordinary smartphones are in the details. If you try at least once a gadget with a display refresh rate of 90 Hz, you cannot return to the 60 Hz. A car for a million dollars is valuable not because it has an incredibly powerful engine, but because the developers paid maximum attention to details and the quality of their execution, ”the head of the company concluded.

Xiaomi has released a globally stable version of the MIUI 11 firmware for the Redmi Note 6 Pro smartphone.
Information about this appeared on the manufacturer’s official forum. The system came out with build number V184.108.40.206.PEKMIXM and is still based on Android 9 Pie OS version. Whether the device will receive Android 10 is still unknown.
With the new firmware, Xiaomi developers added the October security patch and all the main features of the MIUI 11 shell to Redmi Note 6 Pro. For example, the updated minimalistic interface design, Milan Pro font, new ringtones with nature sounds, the Mi Work Suite features and applications package and much more.
The update has already begun to receive smartphone owners around the world. If you don’t have the firmware yet, you have to wait a bit.
A year ago, the company Xiaomi introduced the state employees Mi A2 and Mi A2 Lite on the Android One program, and now it is time for their successors. We have already written about Xiaomi Mi A3 and Mi A3 Lite, which should be similar to their Chinese counterparts Xiaomi CC9 and Xiaomi CC9e, but the latest rumors suggest that there can be three models in the lineup.
Xiaomi has already started sending invitations to the Xiaomi Mi A3 presentation – however, so far only in Poland. The premiere will be held in Warsaw on July 25th.
According to insiders, new items can reach India in August. When sales are planned in other countries is still unknown.
On the online site “Giztop” already accept pre-orders for Xiaomi Mi A3. Features include a Snapdragon 665 processor, a triple main camera (48, 8 and 2 megapixels), a 32 megapixel front camera and a 4030 mAh battery. The same “stuffing” at Xiaomi CC9e.
New products will work on the “clean” version of Android OS 9 Pie with guaranteed updates for two to three years.
The price tag of the smartphone is $ 230.
The company Huami (daughter of Xiaomi) has recently introduced a smart watch Amazfit Verge 2 and Amazfit Health Watch, and is now preparing to release another novelty.
The manufacturer has published a poster on the social network Weibo, according to which the new smart watches are announced on July 16. According to several sources, they will be called Amazfit GTR.
The watch will receive a battery that can work up to 24 days without recharging. There are no other details about the Amazfit GTR, but it can be assumed that they will be equipped with an AMOLED screen, activity tracking functions, a waterproof steel and ceramic case, and possibly a Qualcomm processor.
The company Xiaomi in the spring of this year announced a fast charge with a capacity of 100 watts. It was rumored that the first device with it might come out already this year, but it looks like it is not.
According to the popular Indian insider Sudhanshu Ambhore, the Super Charge Turbo technology will be installed on smartphones only in 2021. Most likely, the fact is that it is unrealistic to implement it in devices without strong overheating.
Recall, Super Charge Turbo is able to charge a 4000 mAh battery in just 17 minutes. This is two times faster than Oppo’s SuperVOOC technology, which is currently the fastest in the world.
By the way, Xiaomi is not the only company that is preparing ultra-fast charging. Last week, its analogue was demonstrated by Vivo – Super FlashCharge. The technology has got a 120 watt power supply that can charge the battery up to 4000 mAh even faster.
In April, Xiaomi announced the cancellation of the Android 9.0 Pie update for budget smartphones Redmi 6 and Redmi 6A, which were released last summer. But now, it seems, the company has changed its mind.
Redmi 6 and Redmi 6A still get an upgrade to Android 9.0 Pie. And on the official MIUI forum, a set of beta testers for the new firmware has already been announced.
Of course, before the release of a stable OS version is still far: during testing, the manufacturer will have to find errors and fix them. But all the same, I am glad that the company has not curtailed the work on the update.
Recall that in late April, Redmi 6 and Redmi 6A received a new version of the MIUI firmware based on Android 8.1 Oreo.
In addition to the flagship series of smartphones Redmi K20, the sub-brand Xiaomi also introduced today its first laptop – RedmiBook 14.
He received a silver metal case with a thickness of 17 mm and a weight of 1.5 kg. It was equipped with a 14-inch screen with a resolution of Full HD (1920 × 1080 pixels). There are several modifications that differ in 256 GB or 512 GB SSD, as well as in quad-core Intel Core i5-8265U or Intel Core i7-8565U processors. All versions have 8 GB of RAM and a discrete Nvidia GeForce MX250 video card.
RedmiBook 14 equipped with a 46-watt battery, which, according to the company, will last for 10 hours of operation of the device. Also, the novelty boasts a cooling system, Smart Unlock 2.0, which “wakes up” a laptop in just 1.2 seconds and stereo speakers with support for DTC Sound technology.
From the ports, the RedmiBook 14 has two USB 3.0 Type-A, one USB 2.0 Type-A, HDMI and 3.5 mm headphone jack. USB Type-C, unfortunately, did not deliver. Works new on Windows 10 with the Microsoft Office suite of applications.
The laptop will be available in the near future with a price tag of $ 576.
