A year ago, the company Xiaomi introduced the state employees Mi A2 and Mi A2 Lite on the Android One program, and now it is time for their successors. We have already written about Xiaomi Mi A3 and Mi A3 Lite, which should be similar to their Chinese counterparts Xiaomi CC9 and Xiaomi CC9e, but the latest rumors suggest that there can be three models in the lineup.
Xiaomi has already started sending invitations to the Xiaomi Mi A3 presentation – however, so far only in Poland. The premiere will be held in Warsaw on July 25th.
According to insiders, new items can reach India in August. When sales are planned in other countries is still unknown.
On the online site “Giztop” already accept pre-orders for Xiaomi Mi A3. Features include a Snapdragon 665 processor, a triple main camera (48, 8 and 2 megapixels), a 32 megapixel front camera and a 4030 mAh battery. The same “stuffing” at Xiaomi CC9e.
New products will work on the “clean” version of Android OS 9 Pie with guaranteed updates for two to three years.
The price tag of the smartphone is $ 230.
The company Huami (daughter of Xiaomi) has recently introduced a smart watch Amazfit Verge 2 and Amazfit Health Watch, and is now preparing to release another novelty.
The manufacturer has published a poster on the social network Weibo, according to which the new smart watches are announced on July 16. According to several sources, they will be called Amazfit GTR.
The watch will receive a battery that can work up to 24 days without recharging. There are no other details about the Amazfit GTR, but it can be assumed that they will be equipped with an AMOLED screen, activity tracking functions, a waterproof steel and ceramic case, and possibly a Qualcomm processor.
The company Xiaomi in the spring of this year announced a fast charge with a capacity of 100 watts. It was rumored that the first device with it might come out already this year, but it looks like it is not.
According to the popular Indian insider Sudhanshu Ambhore, the Super Charge Turbo technology will be installed on smartphones only in 2021. Most likely, the fact is that it is unrealistic to implement it in devices without strong overheating.
Recall, Super Charge Turbo is able to charge a 4000 mAh battery in just 17 minutes. This is two times faster than Oppo’s SuperVOOC technology, which is currently the fastest in the world.
By the way, Xiaomi is not the only company that is preparing ultra-fast charging. Last week, its analogue was demonstrated by Vivo – Super FlashCharge. The technology has got a 120 watt power supply that can charge the battery up to 4000 mAh even faster.
In April, Xiaomi announced the cancellation of the Android 9.0 Pie update for budget smartphones Redmi 6 and Redmi 6A, which were released last summer. But now, it seems, the company has changed its mind.
Redmi 6 and Redmi 6A still get an upgrade to Android 9.0 Pie. And on the official MIUI forum, a set of beta testers for the new firmware has already been announced.
Of course, before the release of a stable OS version is still far: during testing, the manufacturer will have to find errors and fix them. But all the same, I am glad that the company has not curtailed the work on the update.
Recall that in late April, Redmi 6 and Redmi 6A received a new version of the MIUI firmware based on Android 8.1 Oreo.
In addition to the flagship series of smartphones Redmi K20, the sub-brand Xiaomi also introduced today its first laptop – RedmiBook 14.
He received a silver metal case with a thickness of 17 mm and a weight of 1.5 kg. It was equipped with a 14-inch screen with a resolution of Full HD (1920 × 1080 pixels). There are several modifications that differ in 256 GB or 512 GB SSD, as well as in quad-core Intel Core i5-8265U or Intel Core i7-8565U processors. All versions have 8 GB of RAM and a discrete Nvidia GeForce MX250 video card.
RedmiBook 14 equipped with a 46-watt battery, which, according to the company, will last for 10 hours of operation of the device. Also, the novelty boasts a cooling system, Smart Unlock 2.0, which “wakes up” a laptop in just 1.2 seconds and stereo speakers with support for DTC Sound technology.
From the ports, the RedmiBook 14 has two USB 3.0 Type-A, one USB 2.0 Type-A, HDMI and 3.5 mm headphone jack. USB Type-C, unfortunately, did not deliver. Works new on Windows 10 with the Microsoft Office suite of applications.
The laptop will be available in the near future with a price tag of $ 576.
More information about the “big devil” appears in the network (this is how Xiaomi calls the new flagship) Redmi K20. This time the manufacturer himself became the informant, who told the details about the cameras of the novelty.
And even though we already knew that the front-end here would be retractable, thanks to early leaks, Redmi CEO Lu Weibing has now officially confirmed this.
In addition, he spoke with the engineers and spoke about the reliability of such a design. The test results showed that the camera can withstand more than 300 thousand opening and closing cycles. And even if you activate the front-end 100 times, it will work stably for at least 8 years.
Advertising teaser confirms that the main camera will be a 48-megapixel Sony IMX586 sensor. The same is installed in the cameras of many modern flagships: for example, Xiaomi Mi 9, Oppo Reno, OnePlus 7 Pro, etc. The whole main camera is expected to have three modules.
A new commercial says that the smartphone will be able to shoot video in Slow-Motion mode at speeds up to 960 frames per second.
Recall that in the lineup there will be two models: Redmi K20 and Redmi K20 Pro. According to rumors, they will be different processors: Snapdragon 730 in the younger and Snapdragon 855 in the older. The rest of the device specifications are the same. This is a 6.39-inch AMOLED screen with a fingerprint scanner, 6/8 GB of RAM, and a 4000 mAh battery with a USB-C port and fast charging (27 W). Novelties are attributed to the NFC-module and headphone jack. They should be introduced this month.
Many complained about the lack of contactless payment function in inexpensive Xiaomi smartphones. It seems that the manufacturer has heard its customers and will add NFC to its new smartphone Redmi 855.
The Weibo social network user asked Redmi CEO Liu Weibing whether Redmi 855 will support NFC. Weibing answered this question positively. Perhaps in the future, and other budget flagships of the company will have this feature.
Thus, today we already know that the new smartphone will be equipped with a Snapdragon 855 processor, a standard headphone jack and NFC. The company plans to release Redmi 855 in early May.
Xiaomi launched its own network-controlled convector heater – Mijia Electric Heater. Now it can be ordered only through the corporate application and only in the Chinese market, but this did not prevent the company from collecting more than 20,000 applications in the first 24 hours.
The novelty is developed by the manufacturer Smartmi, which is included in the Xiaomi ecosystem. A convector-type heater quickly heats the room and does not dry out much air. He is able to maintain the required temperature, the mode is configured using the buttons on the case (20 ° C, 22 ° C, 24 ° C, 26 ° C and 32 ° C) or through the Mi Home application on the smartphone. For this device equipped with a Wi-Fi adapter. Even the voice control function is declared through the “smart” assistant Xiao Ai, who so far understands only Chinese.
Xiaomi Mijia Electric Heater is made of fireproof materials and received all the necessary protection systems. It automatically shuts off if it heats up to 95 ° C, or when the angle of inclination of the body exceeds 45 degrees (for example, if accidentally tilted). And IPX4 splash protection allows you to install it in the bathroom. Heater power – 1500 watts.
The first buyers will be able to buy a heater for 299 yuan (about $ 43), and the usual price will be 349 yuan (almost $ 51). Smartmi has a similar model with a display for setting modes, but it costs already 499 yuan ($ 73)
Xiaomi hit the Guinness Book of Records for the largest animated mosaic of mobile phones. Instead of a boring rectangular video wall, a Chinese company laid out a giant New Year tree from 1005 new Mi Play smartphones. The height of the structure is almost 8 meters.
According to co-founder and head of Xiaomi, Lei Jun (Lei Jun), preparation for the record took two weeks. They needed not only to connect all the devices, but also to achieve complete image synchronization, since even a delay of 0.04 seconds would be noticeable to the naked eye. A Christmas tree was placed in one of Beijing’s shopping centers. Its construction began at four in the morning on December 24th. The work was completed only by four o’clock in the afternoon local time.
Smartphones also handed out internet to visitors, creating the largest access point in Beijing on the eve of the Catholic Christmas. As we have already told, in China, Xiaomi Mi Play comes with a monthly package of 10 GB of Internet for a year after purchase.
Xiaomi has released a global stable version of MIUI 10 for two budget smartphones of the past.
The update came out for Xiaomi Redmi 3S and Redmi 4. So far, only some of the devices have begun to receive firmware. But all the others can no longer wait for OTA and install the update manually.
Unfortunately, no global innovations should be expected. The update is still based on Android OS 6.0 Marshmallow. The developers of the company only improved the operation of the devices, and also added a new system interface.
