The Chinese manufacturer Xiaomi has successfully tested the sub-screen fingerprint scanner on a device with an LCD display.
This was told by the head of the sub-brand Redmi Lu Weibing. He also posted a video demonstrating the technology on his Weibo page. The company’s engineers managed to do this by installing a special infrared film. It allows the screen to conduct light better and reflect the texture of the finger.

When the first smartphones with such a scanner appear, Weybing did not inform, but most likely, they are expected to wait on the market this year. The price tag of these devices will be less than 300 US dollars.
