Update to MIUI 11 based on Android 10 “broke” Xiaomi Mi 9T smartphones

Recently, Xiaomi Mi 9T smartphones received an update from MIUI 11 based on Android 10. However, with the new firmware, users started to have problems.

After installing the MIUI update, which includes Android security fixes from January, smartphones started to run a little on battery power.

On forums, users write that if before a single charge was enough for 9-10 hours of work, now it is 6-7 hours at best. Moreover, the smartphone’s settings indicate that Android is the most “gluttonous” – it consumes more than 30% of the battery charge.

For example, one of the users in 24 minutes watching videos on YouTube, the charge decreased from 100% to 87%.

Many people advise clearing the cache, disabling autorun, and restarting the smartphone periodically. There is a cardinal method – reset to factory settings. However, we immediately warn that not all of these manipulations work for everyone.

Most likely, in the near future, Xiaomi will release a new update for Mi 9T, which will fix the error.

Add call recording feature to Google Phone app

Google developers will soon add a very useful feature to their proprietary call application.

Experts from XDA-Developers found in the new version of Google Phone 43.0.28919110, which recently received owners of Pixel 4 smartphones. In the application code, the craftsmen found a mention and even a logo of the function for recording conversations. Such an opportunity was previously available only through third-party applications on older versions of the OS, but starting with Android 9 Pie Google closed access to it. Therefore, now it is necessary to establish the root of the law for this.

Unfortunately, it is not yet known when the call recording function will appear in the application. Most likely, it will soon be added to the beta version of Google Phone.

Xiaomi users filed a petition, demanding to upgrade Mi A3 to Android 10

In July 2019, Xiaomi introduced a new smartphone as part of the Android One program – Mi A3. It has a good “filling” and low cost, and it cannot boast of a new version of Android.

Xiaomi Mi A3 runs on the “original” Android, so the upgrade to Android 10 should have been among the first. Other companies have long updated smartphones with both “original” Android and branded shells, but there is still no update for Mi A3.

The new vice president of Xiaomi was the head of Lenovo Mobile

Lenovo lost its talent, and Xiaomi acquired a new vice president of the mobile division.

Lenovo vice president and head of Lenovo Mobile China, Chang Cheng, left the company where he worked for 19 years. Cheng resigned on December 18, when Lenovo founder Liu Chuangzhi resigned.

Cheng moved to Xiaomi, where he also took the chair of the vice president. Xiaomi Chairman and CEO Lei Zun confirmed replenishment, welcoming the new vice president of Xiaomi Group. Cheng will now be responsible for creating new products related to the company’s smartphones.

Chang Cheng joined Lenovo in 2000 as director of research and development for the computer division. In 2011, he was appointed vice president of Lenovo Group and general manager of the mobile division, where he was responsible for the software part. In 2015, Cheng traveled to the chair of the executive director of ZUK, a subsidiary of Lenovo.

According to Gizmochina, under Cheng, Lenovo fought for the smartphone market, but was never able to capture a significant share. At the same time, the reason for leaving the company was health problems, as well as the desire to spend more time with family.
