Sony’s patent applications have appeared on Inverse regarding its PlayStation VR 2 VR helmet.
According to the source, the novelty will be completely wireless and will be able to work without charging for about 5 hours. One of the main chips will be the implementation of the technology of tracking the eyes and head movements, which will reduce the requirements for the computing resources of the helmet. In addition, the system will be able to identify the user and upload personal settings.
The stated resolution of the lenses is 2560×1440 pixels, the viewing angle is 220 degrees, and the refresh rate is 120 Hz. For comparison, the original PlayStation VR had a resolution of 1920×1080 at the same frequency.
Somewhat confused by the price – $ 250 US, which is pretty cheap for such a device.
