Insiders from China revealed the full list of top-end smartphones in 2018, which should receive the newest Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor. They specified not only the models themselves, but also the terms of their announcement. In total there were about 20 devices:
February: Samsung Galaxy S9 / S9 +, LG G7 / G7 +;
April: Xiaomi Mi7;
May: HTC U12;
June: OnePlus 6, Sony Xperia XZ Pro-A, ZTE nubia Z18;
August: Nokia 10;
September: Samsung Galaxy Note 9, LG V40, Xiaomi Mi MIX 3;
October: Google Pixel 3/3 XL, Sony Xperia XZ2, HTC U12 +, ZTE nubia Z18S;
November: Moto Z 2019;
December: OnePlus 6T, Samsung W2019.
Announcements of most of these smartphones – events are quite expected. However, the release of the flagship LG G7 in two versions of the rumors have not yet been. Apparently, this manufacturer decided to give Samsung an equivalent response to the new Galaxy S9 models. All four should submit at the end of February before the exhibition MWC 2017.
Recall that the processor itself, Snapdragon 845, was introduced in December. It is manufactured according to the company’s 10-nm technology of the second generation Samsung and includes eight Kryo 385 cores, one half of which operates at a frequency of up to 2.8 GHz, and the second – up to 1.8 GHz. In comparison with the predecessor, productivity increased by 25%, and energy efficiency by 30%. The new accelerator Adreno 630 became 30% more powerful than the previous one. Due to the ISP Spectra 280 the chip got support for recording HDR-video with a resolution of 4K and a frequency of 60 frames per second, as well as the ability to full-frame 16-megapixel shooting at 60 fps.
